HALAL SLAUGHTER PROGRAM
The Australian Government Halal Slaughter Program (AGHS) exists to maintain the status and segregation of Halal products after carcases are declared Halal by accredited Muslim slaughtermen. The Federal Department of Agriculture is responsible for the approval of all AGHS programs. They monitor all aspects of the program to ensure Halal product is prepared, handled, packed and stored in a manner that addresses Halal integrity at all stages of production. The Slaughterman in the approved Australian abattoir is a certified Muslim slaughterman and the Halal checkers are recognized by Indonesia and Australian Government. All stages of the production process are conducted according to Sharia law.
HALAL CERTIFIED
In Indonesia, True Aussie Beef & Lamb are approved by the Indonesia authorities – MUI. Australia’s export halal meat are all need to be certified by LPPOM MUI. LPPOM MUI recognize Halal certificates issued by approved Halal certification body only for product produced in the country where the halal certification body located. All Halal Export Meat packing plants needs to be certified by an Islamic Organisation/ halal approved certification bodies that follow the protocols from LPPOM MUI in order to keep strict control and monitoring of the Halal meat production and process. The list of approved halal certification body is effective for 2 (two) years as of the date it is stipulated and it will be monitored and evaluated by LPPOM MUI once a year. Halal meat for final export receives an official Halal meat certificate signed by both the Australian Department of Agriculture and a recognized Halal approved certification body.
