Behind every perfect burger lies the harmony of refined technique and the finest ingredients. Chef Freddie Salim, Chef-Owner of Silk Bistro, masterfully demonstrates this through his creation — the Aussie Beef Classic Cheese Burger. Using premium Australian beef from Aussie Beef & Lamb, this signature dish delivers not only indulgent flavor and juiciness but also the wholesome nutritional benefits of ethically sourced meat.

Ingredients

  • 150-180 g of Australian ground beef (Aussie Beef)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1 slice of cheddar cheese or cheese slice

  • 1 brioche bun, halved

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

  • Fresh lettuce leaves

  • 1 tbsp caramelized onion

  • 2-3 pickle slices

  • 1 tbsp burger sauce (optional)

Method

  1. Cook the Patty:
Heat a non-stick pan and add a small amount of oil. Shape the Australian ground beef into a thick patty, then season it with salt and black pepper. Cook until golden brown on both sides, approximately 3–4 minutes per side.
While still hot, place a slice of cheese on top to let it melt naturally, creating a luscious creamy layer.

  2. Prepare the Bun:
Spread butter on the inner sides of the brioche bun and toast lightly in the pan until golden. This step adds a subtle crispness and a rich buttery aroma.

  3. Assemble the Burger:
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, layer with fresh lettuce, the beef patty and melted cheese, caramelized onion, and pickles. Finish with the top bun brushed with burger sauce.

The result is an irresistibly balanced burger — tender on the outside, juicy on the inside, with a satisfying blend of savory, sweet, and tangy notes that linger beautifully.

Where Taste Meets Well-Being

The true distinction of the Aussie Beef Classic Cheese Burger lies in its core ingredient — Australian beef. Raised in vast open pastures, Australian cattle are grass-fed and nurtured without the use of growth hormones or added antibiotics. This ethical farming approach ensures meat that is tender in texture, rich in natural flavor, and consistent in quality.

From a nutritional standpoint, Australian beef is a powerhouse of high-quality protein essential for muscle growth and tissue repair. It also contains easily absorbed heme iron, which supports energy and focus, along with vitamin B12 and zinc for a strong immune system and optimal metabolism. This makes Aussie Beef a smart, nutrient-rich choice favored by professional chefs and culinary experts around the world — including Chef Freddie Salim.
