Aussie Beef and Lamb Indonesia Hosts Lamb Butchery Challenge at SIAL InterFOOD 2025

Aussie Beef and Lamb Indonesia with Austrade successfully presented the Lamb Butchery Challenge at SIAL InterFOOD 2025 in Jakarta, showcasing professional lamb butchery skills and honoring top winners from global hospitality teams.

Aussie Beef and Lamb Indonesia, in collaboration with The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), organized a professional competition titled the Lamb Butchery Challenge as part of the SIAL InterFOOD 2025 event, which took place from 12 to 15 November at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. This competition became one of the main highlights of the largest food and beverage industry exhibition in Southeast Asia, showcasing the finest talents in the professional art of lamb butchery.

SIAL InterFOOD itself is a comprehensive exhibition that brings together product innovation, technology, and professional competitions in the food, beverage, culinary, and hospitality sectors, with participation from dozens of countries and thousands of global industry players.

The Lamb Butchery Challenge demonstrated the extraordinary talents of participants in lamb butchery techniques, from understanding the various anatomical cuts of lamb to executing cutting skills according to strict professional standards. This tournament was not only a competitive platform but also served as an educational and inspirational forum for culinary professionals and F&B entrepreneurs in Indonesia and across the Asia Pacific region.

The competition results, which affirmed the achievements of the participants, are as follows:

  • First Place: Sama-Sama KLIA Hotel, Malaysia

  • Second Place: Summer Swissôtel

  • Third Place: The Westin Jakarta

This activity demonstrated the collaboration and competitive spirit among professionals in this industry, while also strengthening the cooperative relationship between Australia and Indonesia in terms of skills and lamb product quality.

The success of this event was inseparable from the role of Aussie Beef and Lamb Indonesia together with Austrade, which actively introduced superior butchery techniques while opening networking opportunities among professionals in the meat processing sector. Events such as this are important as they can promote a broader understanding of meat handling and expand the utilization of Australian lamb in the Indonesian market, which, based on consumption trends, shows increasing interest in these products.

In addition, this competition was aligned with various other workshops and educational sessions presented at SIAL InterFOOD 2025, such as the Workshop Lamb Butchery by Aussie Meat Academy, which aims to deepen professional lamb butchery techniques at an international level.
